Elbow pad cover

elbow pad

This cover is essentially just a tube but it has multiple amazing functions. The main reason I made it is to stop the velcro on my elbow pads coming undone when I am jamming. However, it also protects the floor when I’m sent sliding, protects other players from the velcro on my pads and displays team colours 🙂

The covers are made using 8 ply wool and a 4 mm hook. This pattern is written in American crochet notation.

Round 1: chain 50, slip stitch in the first chain to form a ring.

Rounds 2 – 37: sc in each stitch (50 stitches)

Fasten off, weave in ends.

My elbow pads (and my arms) are pretty small. You can adapt this pattern to fit your pads by making a chain ring that is just big enough to slide over the widest part of your pad and then crocheting rounds until it is long enough to cover the entire pad.
