This is a cute little rug for a child, or a cat to lie on, or for my teensy tiny little living room. You will need a 12 mm hook and (I found out the hard way) ever so slightly more than one ball of B.B Yarn from Lincraft :/ The finished dinosaur is 1 metre long and 70 cm high.

Body

Round 1: chain 21 (one is a turning chain, sc 19 along one side of the chain, increase, sc 18 along the other side of the chain, increase (41 stitches)

Round 2: increase, sc 18, increase, sc, increase, sc 17, increase, sc (45 stitches)

Round 3: sc, increase, sc 19, increase, sc, increase, sc 20, increase (49 stitches)

Round 4: sc, increase, sc 21, increase, sc, increase, sc 22, increase (49 stitches)

Adding the other bits of the body

Round 5: increase, sc, increase, 3 hdc, 3 dc, 5 triple stitch, 3 dc, 3 hdc, 3sc (that’s the back, now we shoot off from the main body of the rug to do the neck and head), chain 25 (two are turning chains), 5 dc along the bottom side of the chain, 18 sc along the bottom side of the chain (you should have got back to the body by now), sc, increase, sc, increase, sc, increase, 2 sc (now of the legs), chain 8 (one is a turning chain), sc 7 along the side of the chain closer to the tummy, (rejoining the body), 2 sc, 4 hdc, 4 dc, 4 hdc, 2 sc, (now for the back leg) chain 8 (one is a turning chain), sc 7 along the side of the chain closer to the tail, (rejoining the body), 2 sc, increase, sc, increase (now for the tail), chain 20 (one is a turning chain), (along the upper side of the chain work the following stitches) 4 slip stitches, 5 sc, 5 hdc, 5 dc, (rejoining the body) sc (I have no idea how many stitches that is)
