This pattern uses a 3 mm hook, a 2 mm hook, orange and green 8 ply wool, brown 4 ply wool, stuffing and lavender. It is written in American crochet notation. The finished peach is 5.5 cm tall.

Peach

With orange wool 8 ply wool and a 3mm hook

Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6 stitches)

Round 2: increase in every stitch (12 stitches)

Round 3: sc in the first stitch, increase in the next stitch – repeat (18 stitches)

Round 4: sc in the first two stitches, increase in the next stitch – repeat (24 stitches)

Round 5: sc in the first three stitches, increase in the next stitch – repeat (30 stitches)

Rounds 6 – 8: sc in each stitch (30 stitches) (3 rounds)

Round 9: sc in the first three stitches, decrease the next two stitches together – repeat (24 stitches)

Round 10: sc in the first two stitches, decrease the next two stitches together – repeat (18 stitches)

Line the peach with stuffing, then fill it with it with lavender and then finally put some more stuffing on top. The stuffing stops the lavender from escaping and makes the peach a bit softer.

Round 11: sc in the first stitch, decrease the next two stitches together – repeat (12 stitches)

Round 12: decrease around (6 stitches)

Stem

Switch to using brown 4 ply wool and a 2 mm hook

Round 13: sc in the first stitch, decrease the next two stitches together – repeat (back loops only) (4 stitches)

Rounds 14 – 15: sc in each stitch (4 stitches) (2 rounds)

Fasten off, weave in end.

Now to make the crease. Using orange 8 ply wool insert the needle at the bottom hole of the peach (where round 1 was). Weave in and out of the stitches up the side of the peach, then weave the wool in near the stem and straight through the centre to the bottom hole. Pull on the ends until you have a nice peachy side crease and a dimple on the top. Tie off and weave in the ends.

Leaf

Using green 8 ply wool and 3 mm hook

Round 1: 4 sc in a magic ring (4 stitches)

Round 2: sc in the first stitch, increase in the next stitch – repeat (6 stitches)

Round 3: sc in the first stitch, increase in the next stitch – repeat (9 stitches)

Round 4: sc in the first stitch, decrease the next two stitches together – repeat (6 stitches)

Round 5: sc in the first stitch, decrease the next two stitches together – repeat (4 stitches)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
